Christmas
Give the most beautiful gift of Christmas – flowers that brighten up the home.
Order flowersHand-made by a Sunshine Coast florist and delivered Monday to Saturday across Buderim, Mountain Creek and Sippy Downs. Same-day delivery for orders placed by 2pm on a weekday or 10am on Saturday, Queensland time.
Buderim sits on a 180-metre plateau above the southern Sunshine Coast, 7 km south-west of Maroochydore and 91 km north of Brisbane, and it has been a garden town since the first farms went in: by 1911 it was the largest coffee-growing area in Queensland, a tramway carried its produce down to Palmwoods from 1914 to 1935, and ginger made its name from 1942. The urban area, which the census counts together with Mountain Creek, Sippy Downs, Forest Glen, Kunda Park, Mons and Tanawha, had 58,956 people at the 2021 census. It is a place of established gardens, retirement living and young families around the university, and a florist on the Coast makes up and delivers your bouquet by hand.
The village on top of the hill and the streets running down its slopes are delivered, along with Mountain Creek to the south (11,950 people), Sippy Downs and the University of the Sunshine Coast campus at 90 Sippy Downs Drive, Forest Glen, Kunda Park, Mons and Tanawha. Maroochydore, Mooloolaba and Nambour are close enough to be covered from the same run. If the recipient lives in a retirement village or a unit complex, give the village name and unit number as well as the street address, and a mobile number so the driver can call from the gate. For a university delivery, name the building or the student accommodation and ask the recipient to keep their phone handy that day.
Same-day delivery runs Monday to Saturday for orders placed before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturday, Queensland time. Sunday is the one day without deliveries. Queensland does not move its clocks, so a sender in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra or Hobart has until 3pm their time between October and April and until 2pm the rest of the year. From Adelaide the deadline is 2.30pm in summer and 1.30pm in winter; from Perth it is noon all year. Anything ordered later goes out the next working day, or on the date you pick at checkout.
Buderim Private Hospital is at 12 Elsa Wilson Drive, Buderim 4556, a not-for-profit hospital owned by the Uniting Church, with general visiting from 10.30am to 8pm. The region's main public hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, opened in March 2017 at 6 Doherty Street, Birtinya, some 10 km to the south-east, with 728 beds; Nambour General Hospital serves the hinterland. Whichever it is, ring the ward first: intensive care and some wards take no fresh flowers, and maternity often asks for a compact arrangement. Give the patient's full name and the ward, and if discharge is near, send to the home instead.
Buderim Cemetery is on Mooloolaba Road, Buderim, one of 18 cemeteries owned and cared for by Sunshine Coast Council. Funeral tributes, from a wreath to a casket spray, are arranged two or three days before the service through the funeral director or a florist near the chapel; delivery to the service itself is never guaranteed, so give the family's home as a second address. A bouquet to the house in the weeks after a funeral, when the visitors have stopped coming, is often more welcome than one more arrangement on the day.
Buderim Garden Club, founded in 1946, holds the Buderim Garden Festival on 17 and 18 October 2026, its 75th festival, with flower, floral art and photography displays in the Buderim Memorial Hall, plant markets in the grounds and open gardens around the mountain. Florists are busy that weekend, so order early. Mother's Day falls on Sunday 9 May 2027; flowers go out on Saturday 8 May and the cut-off is 10am, and Father's Day comes on 5 September 2027. Valentine's Day on 14 February lands in the wettest, stickiest part of the year, so plan a morning delivery to a workplace. On Anzac Day, 25 April, a sprig of rosemary or a wreath is the custom rather than a bouquet.
The Sunshine Coast has a humid subtropical climate: an average high of 25.4 degrees, a low of 15.8, and 1,478 mm of rain a year, with February and March the wettest months. Winter is dry and mild, which suits proteas, leucadendron, stock, daffodils, tulips and carnations; spring brings peonies, dahlias, snapdragons and the first roses; summer is the time for orchids, anthuriums, alstroemeria, gerberas and tropical foliage that shrug off the humidity; autumn is chrysanthemum and dahlia season, which is why Mother's Day bouquets lean that way. Frangipani, hibiscus and bougainvillea flower in warm-climate gardens like these for much of the year, and lavender and rosemary are reliable fillers.
Bouquets start at AUD 75. The delivery fee is added at checkout, and a card message is included.
Did you know? Did you know? Buderim's ginger factory, built in 1942, grew into the largest ginger processing plant in the southern hemisphere before the business moved to Yandina in 1980.
