Christmas
Give the most beautiful gift of Christmas – flowers that brighten up the home.
Order flowersA florist in Port Macquarie makes up your bouquet and delivers it by hand, Monday to Saturday. Order before 2pm on a weekday or 10am on a Saturday for same-day delivery across town and down the coast to Bonny Hills.
Port Macquarie is a beach town with a hospital, a university campus and a lot of grandparents, which is exactly the mix that keeps a florist busy. Around 52,000 people live here, 390 km north of Sydney, in a run of suburbs that follows the coast from Town Beach south past Lighthouse Beach to Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills, and inland along the Hastings River to Thrumster and Wauchope. When you order flowers for Port Macquarie with us, a florist in the town does the arranging and the driving.
Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday, or before 10am on a Saturday, are delivered the same day. Everything after that is delivered the next working day, or on a date you pick at checkout. There is no delivery on Sundays, which matters more here than in most places: Sunday is when visitors drive up from Newcastle and Sydney, so if the occasion falls on a Sunday, have the flowers arrive on the Saturday and they will be waiting. Port Macquarie keeps New South Wales time, including daylight saving from October to April. If you are ordering from Brisbane or the Gold Coast in summer, Port Macquarie is an hour ahead of you, so the 2pm cut-off is 1pm on your clock.
The core run covers Port Macquarie itself, the beachside streets at Flynns Beach and Shelly Beach, Lighthouse Beach and the newer estates behind it, and the inland growth areas of Thrumster, Sancrox and Lake Innes around the Charles Sturt University campus. South along the coast, Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills are covered, and so are Laurieton and Dunbogan on the Camden Haven. Inland, King Creek and Wauchope are within reach. The outer addresses may be delivered later in the day than the town itself. For an acreage property at King Creek or Sancrox, give the property name and a mobile number: the driver will ring from the gate rather than guess which driveway is yours. For a unit in one of the newer apartment buildings along the river, include the unit number and, if there is one, the intercom or building code.
Port Macquarie Base Hospital, the public hospital for the Mid North Coast, is on Wrights Road, with maternity, oncology, orthopaedic and medical wards. Port Macquarie Private Hospital is at 86 Lake Road. Both accept flowers in most wards, but not all: intensive care and some surgical wards take no fresh flowers, and the mental health and neonatal units have their own rules. Ring the ward first and ask. Then give the patient's full name and the ward on the order, because a bouquet addressed only to the hospital stops at the front desk. For a new baby, a small arrangement in its own water is easier for the nurses than a tall vase. If the patient is likely to go home within a day or two, the home address is the safer choice.
The town has an unusual calendar. Ironman Australia moved from May to October from 2026, with the race on Sunday 18 October 2026 and in October every year after that, and Tastings on Hastings follows on Sunday 26 October 2026. On those weekends the town is full and streets along the course are closed in places, so order a day early for any address near the route. Mother's Day is Sunday 9 May 2027: with no Sunday delivery, the flowers are delivered on Saturday 8 May and the cut-off is 10am that morning. Father's Day is Sunday 5 September 2027, same rule. Valentine's Day, 14 February, falls in a humid Port Macquarie summer, so send roses to an address where they will be unwrapped and put in water the same afternoon. Anzac Day, 25 April, is marked here with a sprig of rosemary and wreaths at the dawn service rather than bouquets.
Port Macquarie's climate is humid subtropical: warm summers, short mild winters, average highs around 24 degrees and roughly 1,400 mm of rain a year, much of it in late summer and autumn. Florists here rarely run short of stock, but what is best changes through the year. Spring (September to November) brings ranunculus, sweet pea, snapdragons and the first local roses. Summer (December to February) is lilies, gerberas, anthuriums and orchids, which cope with the heat. Autumn (March to May) means chrysanthemums, proteas and leucadendron, so Mother's Day bouquets lean that way. Winter (June to August) is the time for stock, iris, daffodils and the native bunches that last a fortnight in a cool room. If you tell us the occasion and let the florist choose, you get whatever came in freshest that morning.
Most cremations and lawn burials in Port Macquarie take place at Innes Gardens Memorial Park, the crematorium and lawn cemetery at 21 Philip Charley Drive, off the Oxley Highway on the western edge of town. Service tributes such as a casket spray, wreath or sheaf should be ordered two to three days ahead and addressed to the chapel with the deceased's name and the time of the service. Delivery to the service itself is never guaranteed, so give the family's home as a second address. A sympathy bouquet to the house is often more welcome a week or two later, when the visitors have gone.
Port Macquarie is a wedding town, from beach ceremonies at Shelly Beach to vineyards around Wauchope. We can deliver a bouquet, buttonholes or a table arrangement to a venue or a bride's accommodation on the day, but full wedding florals are a job for a local florist booked directly, so use us for the delivered pieces rather than the whole ceremony. Hand-tied bouquets start at around AUD 75 and go up for a dozen roses, a large native bunch or a vase arrangement. The delivery fee is shown and added at checkout. A card with your message is included with every order.
Did you know? Ironman Australia in Port Macquarie moved from May to October in 2026, its 39th running, so that athletes get warmer water and longer daylight.
