Christmas
Give the most beautiful gift of Christmas – flowers that brighten up the home.
Order flowersA Perth florist hand-ties the bouquet and delivers it Monday to Saturday. Order before 2pm on a weekday or 10am on a Saturday, Western Australian time, for same-day delivery.
Perth is Australia's sunniest capital, with about 8.8 hours of sunshine a day and around 3,200 hours a year, and it has a floral identity of its own: the red-and-green kangaroo paw has been Western Australia's emblem since 1960, and the Botanic Garden in Kings Park, on Fraser Avenue above the Swan River, grows more than 3,000 of the state's plant species. More than 2.3 million people live in Greater Perth, from Yanchep in the north to Rockingham in the south. When you order flowers to Perth through us, a florist in the recipient's part of the city makes up the bouquet and delivers it by hand.
Western Australia keeps Australian Western Standard Time, UTC+8, all year and has no daylight saving. That leaves Perth two hours behind Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart and Brisbane from April to October, and three hours behind the daylight-saving states from October to April, while Brisbane stays two hours ahead. The same-day cut-off is 2pm on a weekday and 10am on a Saturday in the recipient's time zone, so for a Perth address you have until 4pm or 5pm Sydney time on a weekday and until noon or 1pm on a Saturday. There is no Sunday delivery in Perth, so a Sunday occasion is best covered on the Saturday. Later orders go out on the next working day, or on any date you choose at checkout.
Delivery covers the inner city and its ring of older suburbs: Perth, Northbridge, East Perth and West Perth, Subiaco, Leederville, Mount Lawley, Victoria Park, South Perth, Como and Nedlands, with the University of Western Australia on the river at Crawley. Along the coast the run takes in Cottesloe, Scarborough and Fremantle, 19 kilometres south-west of the city, and south of the river Applecross, Melville, Booragoon, Murdoch, Bull Creek, Canning and Cockburn down to Kwinana and Rockingham. To the north florists reach Stirling, Joondalup, 26 kilometres from the CBD with Edith Cowan University and Joondalup Health Campus, Wanneroo and Yanchep; to the east, Belmont, Bayswater, Midland, Ellenbrook, Gosnells and Armadale, and the hills suburbs of Kalamunda and Mundaring. The apartment buildings of East Perth and Scarborough have intercoms, so give the unit number and a mobile number the driver can call from the lobby. For a student at Curtin University in Bentley, UWA or ECU, use a residential college or department address rather than the campus name.
Perth has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate. February averages 31.7 degrees, about 26 days a year pass 35, and nearly 78 per cent of the 731 millimetres of annual rain falls between May and September. Spring is the season Perth florists wait for: kangaroo paw flowers from August to November, the same months bring banksia, protea and leucadendron into the buckets alongside ranunculus, poppies, peonies and the first roses, and the Everlasting Kings Park Festival, from 18 September to 4 October 2026, is the city's annual showcase of the wildflowers. Summer is hot and dry, so bouquets lean on roses, carnations, gerberas, gladioli, orchids and anthurium, and the Fremantle Doctor does nothing for a bouquet left on a porch, so choose an address where someone is home. Autumn brings proteas, leucadendron and the first tulips, and the wet winter months are for tulips, daffodils, ranunculus and orchids.
Perth's big public hospitals are spread across the city. Royal Perth Hospital is at 197 Wellington Street in the city centre; Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, which locals call Charlie's, is at 12 Hospital Avenue, Nedlands; Fiona Stanley Hospital is at 11 Robin Warren Drive, Murdoch, south of the river; and King Edward Memorial Hospital, the state's largest maternity hospital, is at 374 Bagot Road, Subiaco. Ring the ward before you order: intensive care and some other wards take no fresh flowers. Give the patient's full name and the ward, and if discharge is a day or two away send to the home instead.
Valentine's Day, 14 February, falls in the hottest month of the Perth year, so order roses for a workplace or a home where someone is in. Perth Festival runs from 5 to 28 February 2027. Anzac Day, 25 April, is marked with a sprig of rosemary on the lapel and wreaths at the dawn services, not with a bouquet. Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May, 9 May 2027: with no Sunday delivery, Mother's Day flowers go out on Saturday 8 May and the cut-off is 10am Perth time, so east-coast families should order on the Friday. Father's Day is the first Sunday in September, 5 September 2027, at the start of wildflower season. Late September is Perth's busiest fortnight, when the Kings Park festival overlaps with the Perth Royal Show at Claremont Showground (26 September to 3 October 2026), so order a few days ahead.
Most Perth funerals and cremations take place at the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board's grounds. Karrakatta Cemetery on Railway Road, Karrakatta, opened in 1899, covers 98 hectares and holds more than 201,000 graves as well as a crematorium; Fremantle Cemetery, on the corner of Carrington Street and Leach Highway in Palmyra, opened in 1898 and has had a crematorium since 1959. Wreaths, casket sprays and sheaves for the service are best arranged two or three days ahead through the funeral director or a florist near the chapel. Delivery to the service itself is never guaranteed, so always give the family's home as a second address; a sympathy bouquet sent to the house in the weeks afterwards is just as welcome.
Hand-tied bouquets start from about AUD 75, with roses by the dozen, native bunches and larger arrangements priced above that. The delivery fee is added at checkout and a card message is included.
