Christmas
Give the most beautiful gift of Christmas – flowers that brighten up the home.
Order flowersA Frankston florist delivers Monday to Saturday across Frankston, Frankston South, Langwarrin, Seaford and Carrum Downs. Order by 2pm on a weekday or 10am on Saturday, Melbourne time, for same-day delivery.
Frankston sits 39 km south-east of the Melbourne CBD at the southern end of Port Phillip's long eastern beach, the point where the suburbs stop and the Mornington Peninsula begins. The suburb itself had 37,331 residents at the 2021 census and the City of Frankston 139,281. It grew as a seaside resort once the train arrived in 1882 and was electrified in 1922, and it still has one of the most visited beaches in Victoria, a pier, an arts centre and the largest hospital between Melbourne and the peninsula. A florist here covers the whole council area and a little beyond.
Every suburb of the City of Frankston is covered: Frankston itself with Karingal, Frankston North and Frankston South, Seaford along the beach, Langwarrin and Langwarrin South, Carrum Downs, Skye and Sandhurst. Mount Eliza and Baxter, just over the boundary in Mornington Peninsula Shire, are usually on the same run. Frankston has far more apartment buildings than it did ten years ago, so for a flat near the station or the waterfront add the recipient's mobile number and any intercom or unit details, and for the Sandhurst golf estate or an acreage block in Langwarrin South tell us where to leave the flowers if nobody is in. Students and staff at Monash University's Peninsula campus, which has close to 4,000 students, are best reached at home rather than at a faculty office.
Order before 2pm Monday to Friday or before 10am on Saturday, Melbourne time, and the bouquet is delivered that day; Sunday is the florists' day off. Victoria runs daylight saving from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, so if you are ordering from Queensland in summer the cut-off is an hour earlier on your clock: 1pm on weekdays and 9am on Saturday. From Perth it is 11am in summer and noon in winter, and from Adelaide it is 1.30pm year round. After the cut-off, delivery moves to the next working day or a date you pick.
Frankston Hospital at 2 Hastings Road is Peninsula Health's main hospital, with 454 beds, an emergency department that sees around 63,000 presentations a year, and maternity, cancer and cardiac services. A new clinical services tower opened in 2026 and the hospital has been renamed Peninsula University Hospital, so either name will be understood by the driver. Ring the ward first: intensive care and some wards take no fresh flowers, and maternity prefers a compact arrangement. Put the patient's full name and the ward on the order, with the home address as a fallback if discharge is close.
Frankston's biggest free event is the Waterfront Festival on the foreshore, on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 February 2027, with fireworks fired from the pier at 9.15pm on the Saturday; Valentine's Day follows eight days later. Mother's Day is Sunday 9 May 2027, delivered on Saturday 8 May with a 10am cut-off, right in dahlia and chrysanthemum season. Anzac Day on 25 April is marked with rosemary and a wreath at the dawn service rather than a bouquet. Father's Day is 5 September 2027, and Frankston's Christmas Festival in December is the signal to order table flowers early, because the florists' Christmas week fills quickly.
Frankston shares Melbourne's temperate oceanic climate but runs two to three degrees cooler than the city centre, with the bay breeze taking the edge off summer afternoons. Melbourne's January mean maximum is 27 degrees, the July mean minimum 7.5, and the famous four seasons in one day apply here too. The cooler air is good news for cut flowers: roses last from late spring to autumn, dahlias and chrysanthemums fill March to May, and the winter months bring ranunculus, tulips, hellebores, daphne and iris. Spring is sweet pea, lilac, lisianthus and a short peony season in October and November; summer bouquets lean on gerberas, gladioli, snapdragons and natives. Choose a seasonal bouquet and the florist works with what arrived that morning.
Frankston Memorial Park, the local cemetery on Cranbourne Road, is run by the Frankston Cemetery Trust through Frankston City Council. The nearest crematorium is Bunurong Memorial Park at 790 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Dandenong South, which has chapels, reflection spaces, a cafe and function rooms on one site, and a great many peninsula funerals are held there. Order casket sprays, wreaths and sheaves two or three days ahead through the funeral director or a florist near the chapel; delivery to the service itself is never guaranteed, so give the family's home as a second address.
Bouquets to Frankston start from AUD 75; the delivery fee appears at checkout and the card message is free.
Did you know? Did you know? Frankston's railway line was built in 1882 to serve a planned metropolitan cemetery that was never built; the sandy soil put the undertakers off and the cemetery went to Springvale instead.
